Rolex did not make a watch called the Pearlmaster 36. The Pearlmaster line ran in 29 mm, 34 mm and 39 mm cases. Listings that say "Pearlmaster 36" use 36 as a nominal size, and the watch in the photos copies the Datejust Pearlmaster: 18k gold case, round gem-set bezel, Jubilee bracelet with a hidden clasp. The features below are what sellers put in the copy, and what the real watch uses.

Case and weight
The genuine watch is solid 18k gold. A 34 mm Pearlmaster weighs about 130 g to 150 g on the bracelet, based on gold density and link count. A replica case is steel with a plating layer. Sellers state plating of 2 to 5 microns in most ads, and do not state it in others. A steel copy with plating lands near 110 g to 130 g. Gold is 15.6 to 19.3 g/cm3 by alloy; 904L steel is 8.0 g/cm3. The difference shows on a scale and in hand.

Rolex calibers in this line run at 28,800 vibrations per hour, which is 4 Hz. Common replica movements, such as the DG2813 and the 2824 clone, run at 21,600 vph, or 3 Hz. A sweep second hand on a 3 Hz movement moves in six steps per second. A 4 Hz movement moves in eight. Power reserve on the Rolex 2235 is about 48 hours. The 2236 adds a Syloxi hairspring and runs longer. Clone movements list 38 to 40 hours.

Stones and dial
Rolex sets natural diamonds and marks the dial with the stone count. Replica bezels use cubic zirconia, moissanite or lab-grown stones. Cubic zirconia has a hardness of about 8.5 on the Mohs scale and a different light return than diamond. Mother-of-pearl dials on the real watch come from shell blanks, so no two are the same. Replica mother-of-pearl is a laminate with a printed pattern in many cases.
Markings and the law
Counterfeit watches carry the Rolex name, crown and model marks without a license. Import and sale of those goods is illegal in the United States under 18 U.S.C. 2320 and 19 U.S.C. 1304.
