Daniel Craig wore Omega watches in five Bond films. The models were the Seamaster Diver 300M, the Planet Ocean 600M, the Seamaster 300 Spectre Limited Edition, and the Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition. Replica versions of each sell from about $150 to $600. None match the movement, water resistance, or finish of the Omega originals, and importing or selling them is illegal in the United States.

One naming point: the Seamaster 300 and the Seamaster Diver 300M are two different Omega lines. The 2015 Spectre watch is a Seamaster 300. The Casino Royale and No Time To Die watches are Seamaster Diver 300M models. Sellers mix the names, so a listing titled "Seamaster 300 Daniel Craig" can point to either line.

  • Casino Royale (2006): Seamaster Diver 300M, ref. 2220.80.00, 41 mm steel case, blue wave dial, cal. 2500. Craig also wore a Planet Ocean 600M with orange numerals and a rubber strap.
  • Quantum of Solace (2008): Planet Ocean 600M, 42 mm.
  • Skyfall (2012): Planet Ocean 600M Skyfall Limited Edition, 5,007 pieces.
  • Spectre (2015): Seamaster 300 Spectre Limited Edition, ref. 233.32.41.21.01.001, 41 mm, bi-directional 12-hour bezel, lollipop seconds hand, black and grey NATO strap, 7,007 pieces.
  • No Time To Die (2021): Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, ref. 210.90.42.20.01.001, grade 2 titanium, 42 mm, brown aluminum dial, cal. 8806. Press reports also describe a 1960s Seamaster 300 on Craig's wrist in parts of the film.

Specs of the originals

  • Master Chronometer certification by METAS. Rate tolerance 0/+5 seconds per day. Magnetic resistance to 15,000 gauss.
  • Diver 300M: 300 m water resistance, helium escape valve at 10 o'clock, ceramic dial with laser-engraved waves, Super-LumiNova.
  • Seamaster 300 Spectre: 300 m, domed sapphire crystal, no date window.
  • Planet Ocean 600M: 600 m, 60 bar case rating.

What replicas get wrong

  • Movement. Most high-grade replicas run Chinese automatic calibers from Seagull or Hangzhou. Listings that say "Swiss ETA" name a movement ETA does not sell through this channel. Swatch Group cut third-party movement supply.
  • Water resistance. Cases carry 300m or 600m stamps. Gaskets and crown threads go untested. Many leak at 3 bar.
  • Lume. Super-LumiNova substitutes glow short and uneven.
  • Finish. Bezel click, dial print, crown engraving, caseback text, and antireflective coating show the gaps.
  • Metal. The No Time To Die original is titanium. Most replicas of it are steel and weigh more.

Labels such as "1:1" and "Swiss super clone" are marketing terms. They describe appearance, not specification.

Price

The No Time To Die 007 Edition retailed above $8,000. The Spectre Limited Edition trades above retail on the secondary market. Replicas run $150 to $300 for low grade and $350 to $600 for high grade.

Legal status in the US

  • 18 U.S.C. 2320 covers trafficking in counterfeit goods. A first offense carries up to 10 years and a $2,000,000 fine for an individual.
  • US Customs and Border Protection can seize counterfeit items. The personal-use exemption does not cover counterfeits.
  • 15 U.S.C. 1114 gives the trademark owner civil claims against sellers and, in some cases, buyers.

  1. Read the caseback reference and compare it to Omega records.
  2. Time the movement against a known rate. Originals hold 0/+5 seconds per day.
  3. Weigh the watch. Titanium references sit below steel equivalents.
  4. Ask for a pressure test result, not a pressure rating.
